Vita's Women Safe Program January 2017

We joined forces with Tiger Schulmann's MMA Middle Village location to teach women Self-Defense. We began with testimonials regarding why it's so important to learn self-defense and then had a great class where we learned awesome moves. 

Pediatric and Adult First AID CPR December 2016 

This career initiative and Vita Teachers for Children Workshop helps students fulfill one of the many requirements needed to open their child care program. At this workshop they learned how use a epinephrine pen for allergic reactions as depicted in the picture above, among other essential things.  

Candle-Making Workshop November 2016

This business initiative workshop was held in partnership with St. Heleine, a candle company that was birthed from an amazing entrepreneur Nichole Dossous' love of candles.  Participants were taught the art of candling making but also how to create a business with it. Not only were they able to take their candles home but they got to network with other amazing women.

Home Based Child-Care Workshop October 2016

The second workshop that was held, which followed up on what was mentioned at the first Home Based Child-Care Workshop, also included Trinity Capital Resources speaking about different business entities and which would be the best fit for the participant's needs. 

15 Hours Health & Safety October 2016

As one of the Vita Teachers for Children class that's offered, you must take it in order to become licensed as a day-care provider. You must complete 15 hours Health and Safety which includes Child Safety, proper nutrition, child abuse prevention and shaken baby syndrome.

CDA Supporting Children's Social and Emotional Development  October 2016

Offered in different parts, CDA Part 3 Supporting Children's Social and Emotional Development assists students by offering key themes and discussing critical issues to help them gain an understanding and learning the principles of social-emotional development. 

 

Home Based Child-Care Workshop August 2016

The first business initiative as well as Vita Teachers for Children workshop held by Vita Center, provided information to participants about the steps that are required in order to open their home based program. Those steps were things such as being certified in Pediatric First AID and CPR, 30 hour class (required by the New York State) among other things.

Business of WE (Women Entrepreneurs)  Launch Party

Business of WE's (Women Entrepreneurs) purpose is to help women entrepreneurs bring their ideas to life by creating their own business, but also creating a community of entrepreneurs who are ready to help their community and expand the economic growth in that area. They also promote corporate partnerships to help the individual gain connections. 

Queens Community House's Annual Gala

Queens Community House is an organization that aims to help all of it's community members, regardless of age, race, gender throughout the borough of Queens. They have 25 program sites throughout Queens, and host things such as after school programs in middle and elementary schools. The annual gala celebrates all the accomplishments QCH has made throughout the years, but also honors people outside of QCH who have helped the organization flourish.
